Men by nature are warriors and the warrior in man needs to be channelled into the areas of spiritual warfare.

A warrior filled with wisdom ascends into the high place and releases regional breakthrough, bringing down the strongholds of the mighty.

Proverbs 21:22 (The Passion Translation)

We need to see men praying real, practical, bold, specific and compassionate prayers, in Jesus’ name! Men who are motivated by love not hate, passionate to see lives changed, injustice brought to an end and the goodness of God revealed and demonstrated.

It is not about simply shouting at and cursing the darkness, we need to destroy it.

He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

1 John 3:8

An aspect of our purpose is to challenge and motivate men to not only develop an active and consistent prayer life, but we also want to see men rise to a new level of faith and authority and join together in the battle for life and the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Raising an army of men like King David

Men carrying an anointing to transform communities and nations! United in purpose to see the Kingdom of God manifested, a glorious church released throughout the nations, moving with power and authority in Jesus’ name.

King David, was a shepherd, warrior, king, a worshipper and lover of God and His presence.

And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skilful hands he led them.

Psalm 78:72

Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

Psalm 144:1

I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

Psalm 122:1

Men must be trained and equipped for the battle and enabled to survive the war. You cannot just send men out to war, they must be trained. An army needs to be prepared, strategy discussed and a battle plan formulated. In every war there are casualties, but if trained and equipped well there does not have to be casualties in this war.

We take on a very real enemy one who is no respecter of persons and will devour whoever he can. He is a thief who has come steal, kill and destroy.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:8

A spiritual battle

Our weapons, as are our enemies, are not natural, but spiritual. We are not taking up “arms” but we are raising our arms to God in prayer, worship and warfare acknowledging Him as the sovereign God who rules over all, surrendering to His will and authority. Our God reigns in all the affairs of men and He is waiting for His warriors to awaken, rise up and stand in the gap and pray, in Jesus’ name to bring the rule and reign of the Kingdom of God.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:10 – 12

Though our language speaks of warriors, fighting and wars, let there be absolutely no misunderstanding. We are talking about a spiritual battle where men driven by love and operating with a spirit of surrender to the living God are empowered with strength from His presence to bring about dynamic change preparing the way for Lord and His return.

This is a battle for life. We do not wrestle with the enemy because of some religious code or dogma, but we are driven and compelled through the knowledge that lives are at stake. Our wrestling starts with us letting God touch our own hearts in such a way that we will push on and pray through until the victory in another’s life is won.

Let God arise and His warriors take their place!

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

2 Corinthians 2:14 (NASB)
